QR codes add an additional dimension to your campaigns by connecting your online and offline media. They can be used as a call to action, promote networking and sharing, as well as contactless solutions.
There are multiple ways to use a QR code on the Mobiz platform, namely:
Attendance QR Codes as a Destination
QR Code as a content feature
QR Codes as a campaign
Let's discuss the kinds of content QR codes in this article.
URL QR codes
URL QR codes allow you to insert a web-code that will redirect to a website point. This is especially useful for scan-to-pay options, for example. Either link it to an existing sub-domain or website or use the Mobiz platform to create a landing page to use as your website point.
Step 1 - Click on Add Content from your template editing mode.
Step 2 - Select the QR Code icon.
Step 3 - Select URL from the Mode options list.
Step 4 - Insert a pre-made website, subdomain, or template in the space provided under Code Content. The end-user will be automatically redirected to this URL when scanning the QR code.
Step 5 - Adjust the Colour - this will be the colour of the pixels that make up the QR code.
Step 6 - Adjust the Background Colour on which the QR pixels will reflect.
Step 7 - Add conditions, effects and spacings to your QR code as necessary.
Tip: We recommend using a darker colour code on a light background as these combinations scan more easily and are easier to read.
Data QR code
Data QR codes create downloadable information packets which, once the QR code is scanned, allows the end-user to share or download the information.
Note: Whether they will be able to both download and share the information is dependant on the scanning app they use.
Step 1 - Click on Add Content from your templates editing mode.
Step 2 - Select the QR Code icon.
Step 3 - Select Data from the Mode options list.
Step 4 - Enter the Code Content, which is the information you would like the customer to see when scanning the code such as a URL or a text phrase.
If you choose to enter a URL the customer will be redirected to the website. However, entering text in this space will trigger a sharing option and prompt the customer to share the entered information via any available app on their mobile device that supports text options. For example, Whatsapp, Facebook, Google Keep, etc.
You can enter new information here, or use personalisation to extract the information from a pre-existing customer database.
Step 5 - Adjust the Colour - this will be the colour of the pixels that make up the QR code.
Step 6 - Adjust the Background Colour on which the QR pixels will reflect.
Step 7 - Add conditions, effects, and spacings to your QR code as necessary.
Tip: We recommend using a darker colour code on a light background as these combinations scan more easily and are easier to read.
Attendance QR
Attendance QR codes work hand-in-hand with QR codes as destinations. These are a great option for large events with pre-generated QR codes that serve as tickets.
Once customers have submitted their information via a sign-up campaign they will receive this QR code which is linked to their unique link ID. Use the pre-shared key to ensure the QR codes cannot be used by any other party.
