One of the most important aspects of content creation is ensuring that you capture, and then keep, the attention of your audience early on.

There are numerous ways to do this, including video content, animations, text formatting, and personalisation.

Personalisation is a great way to connect with your audience by showing them content they are likely to be interested in based on your customer data.

Spacings & Effects

Spacing

Add space before and/or after your creative content allows you to distinguish content sections, break up large text areas, increase legibility and improve the design.

Step 1 - Once you have placed your content into your template, click on Add Spacing (highlighted in blue) to the right of the Spacing header in the section window.

Step 2 - Click on Space before to add spacing above the creative, and Space after to add spacing below. You can add a minimum space amount of 1/2 a line and up to 3 lines.

Step 3 - Once you are happy with the spacing click on Save to confirm the changes.

Effects

Add effects to your content to highlight important information or features. Effects occur when the viewer opens the campaign or scrolls past a section of the template in which the effect trigger has been placed.

Step 1 - Once you have placed your content into your template, click on No Effect (highlighted in blue) to the right of the Effects header in the section window.

Step 2 - You can choose between Select onLoad Effect Type and Select Scroll-into Effect Type.

Select onLoad Effect Type allows you to Show or Hide content when the landing page loads and is first presented to the user. Select Scroll-into Effect Type gives you the option of 5 scroll-into effects, such as Fade-in, Slide-in with fade-in, and Slide-in.

Step 3 - Once you have selected your effect, click on Save to confirm changes.

Conditions

Conditions are used to control how different users see and experience content in the template. Conditions use tags, which are created from the headings in your customer list and can be added to different types of content within your template.

Step 1 - Once you have placed your content into your template and want to apply a condition tag to that segment, click on Always Display (highlighted in blue) to the right of the Conditions header in the section window.

Step 2 - Click on Add Condition or select a previously saved condition tag by tapping on Load.

Step 3 - If you have selected to add a new condition tag, you will then need to select the format you wish to use - text or numeric. Text is useful for descriptive condition tags such as gender, location, etc. Numeric can be used for condition tags relating to age groups or income brackets, for example.

Step 4 - Using the first text box provided, input your condition name. The condition name will need to match the column headings as they appear in your customer database - be sure to match your condition name exactly or it will not work. Useful types of condition tags include market segments such as gender or age group, location, and account status.

Step 5 - You can add multiple condition tags as well as combine tags into a set, such as age bracket and location.

Step 6 - Click Save to complete and then try it out on your template using the Test Data tab.

To access the Test Data tab, select Test Data from the top menu bar in your template dashboard. Any condition tags you have added to your creatives will display in the window that appears.

To test your conditions, input test information in the relevant fields provided. Once saved, this will activate the condition in your campaign display. For example, Gender = Female. This will activate the tag, allowing you to check it is working as intended and also view the template as your customer market segment would.

Personalisation tags

Personalisation tags link directly to your customer database and dynamically pull content into your template that is specific to your customer. Any feature that includes text input can be programmed to include personalisation.

Step 1 - You can add personalisation to any feature that allows text input, including Labels. Simply add double curly brackets on either side of the tag from your customer database, e.g. {{Name}}.

Step 2 - It's important to ensure that the tag uses the same data name and formatting as featured in the customer database headings, otherwise it will not work.

Step 3 - Click Save to complete and then try it out on your template using the Test Data tab.

To access the Test Data tab, select Test Data from the top menu bar in your template dashboard. Any personalisation tags you have added to your creatives will display in the window that appears.

Input test information in the relevant fields provided. Once saved, this will activate the condition in your campaign display. For example, Name = Jane Doe. This will activate the tag, allowing you to check it is working as intended and also view the template as your customer would.
