SMS campaigns do not require a Mobiz template and can be used to send simple, text only, information to your customers, or as a 'warm-up' campaign to prime your customers for a MobizSMS campaign.
Step 1 - From the Mobiz dashboard, click on Campaigns from the left-hand panel.
Step 2 - Select the appropriate folder to which your campaign will be saved, or create a new folder by tapping on Folder Functions, then Add Folder.
Step 3 - Once you have the correct folder selected, click on New Campaign in the top right-hand corner of the dashboard.
Step 4 - You will be presented with three SMS campaign types to choose from, as shown below. These will be explained in the following sections.
SMS
Plain text SMSs are useful for providing your customers with basic information, such as a notification or order confirmation.
Step 1 - Once you have selected SMS from the campaign options, you'll be prompted to enter your Campaign Name and select your Campaign Brand. If you only have one brand, it will be selected by default.
Step 2 - Name your campaign and follow the prompt to Choose Customer Data. Select the customer database you will be sending your campaign to or opt to create a new one. This article will explain how to upload or create a new customer database.
Step 3 - After adding or creating the customer database click on Complete Setup in the top right-hand corner of the dashboard. This will create your new campaign and redirect you to the campaign dashboard.
Step 4 - Now that you have created your campaign it's time to create your SMS engagements. You can create multiple SMS engagements within the same campaign group. Click on Create SMS Engagement to get started. Then, select Create Bulk Send (Current Data) from the options presented.
Step 5 - Complete the specifications of your SMS:
Allow Concatenated SMS - This allows for SMSs with a character count higher than the standard limit of 160 characters. Concatenated SMS can go up to 306 characters, including the domain link and any personalisations.
SMS Text - This is the text your customer will receive as an SMS. Use the Add Fields function to add in personalisations directly from your customer database.
Use brand stop list - Allow users to opt-out of specific brands within your enterprise, as opposed to opting out of the entire enterprise send list.
Targeting - Send your SMS to specific customers in your database by targeting according to specific criteria, such as name, age etc. These specifications will come directly from your customer database column headings.
Once you've added in all the details, click on Next.
Step 6 - Give your SMS engagement a name under Batch Name. Enter your send time - you can choose to send ASAP or untick the Send ASAP option to choose a future time and date to deploy.
You may also opt to send your engagement in batches using Stagger Send. This is particularly helpful if you have a very large customer database. Click on Change Stagger Rule, then select the number of Batches as well as the number of Minutes Apart each batch should deploy.
Step 7 - If you so choose, click on Cost Estimate to get an overview of your engagement - what the Total Cost will be, how many Exclusions there are and a Cost Breakdown. If you are satisfied with the data, simply click Close.
Step 8 - After completing the above steps, click on Send. This will load all your information to your engagement - do not navigate away from this screen. Once your engagement has been applied, you will be asked to confirm the Total Recipients and Confirm assigning amount. If you are happy with these, click on Create.
Step 7 - Your new engagement will reflect on your dashboard as shown below. Note the live analytics displayed; these will be continually updated after your campaign has been deployed.
View additional menu options by clicking on the cog symbol on the right-hand side of the panel. This allows you to View SMS Text, View Targeting as well as Pause/Stop your engagement and Get Report.
