Create SMSs with a unique web-enabled link that allows for personalized campaigns through customized feature-rich SMS landing pages.
SmartSMS delivers your personalized campaign landing pages to your customer database via SMS. This is a data-cost-free service to your clients, allowing them to browse and engaged at no cost to them.
Let's start by setting up your campaigns. These steps are the same for all three engagement channels - Standard SmartSMS, Triggered SmartSMS, and Keyword SmartSMS.
Create your campaign
Step 1 - From the Mobiz dashboard, click on Campaigns from the left-hand panel.
Step 2 - Select the appropriate folder to which your campaign will be saved, or create a new folder by tapping on Folder Functions, then Add Folder.
Step 3 - With the correct folder selected, click on New Campaign in the top right-hand corner of the dashboard.
Step 4 - There are SMS three campaign types to choose from, as shown below. These will be explained in the following sections.
Step 5 - After you have selected your engagement type from the campaign options enter your Campaign Name and select your Campaign Brand in the presented window. If you only have one brand, it will be selected by default.
Step 6 - Name your campaign and follow the prompts to input the set-up data:
Customer Data - Select the customer database that will be updated when the end-user submits information into your template through a form. This article will explain how to upload or create a new customer database.
Web Template - Choose your pre-designed template, or start from scratch by tapping on Create New. If you choose to create a new template you will need to add in all the necessary content.
Tag Matching - If you have conditioning or personalization tags in your template you will be prompted to match these to your column headings in your customer database. Refer to the color guide at the top of the window to see which columns are Matched, Not Matched, and Auto Matched.
If the columns are Not Matched click on the grey Click to Assign Data and select the correct reference column in your database from the options presented. If you do not have a tag match you will either need to remove this tag from your template or add the necessary information to your customer database, as you will not be able to complete setup if there are unmatched tags present.
Step 7 - Once you have completed the above steps, click on Complete Setup in the top right-hand corner of the dashboard. You will then be redirected to your campaign dashboard.
SmartSMS
Send a SmartSMS containing a link to your Mobiz template.
Step 1 - Now that you have created your campaign, it's time to set-up your SmartSMS engagements. You can create multiple SMS engagements within the same campaign group. click on Create SmartSMS Engagement to get started. Then, select Create Bulk Send (Current Data) from the options presented.
Step 2 - Complete the specifications of your SmartSMS:
Allow Concatenated SMS - This allows for SMSs with a character count higher than the standard limit of 160 characters. Concatenated SMS can go up to 306 characters, including the domain link and any personalizations.
SMS Text - This is the text your customer will receive as an SMS. Use the Add Fields function to add in personalizations directly from your customer database.
Use brand stop list - Allow users to opt-out of specific brands within your enterprise, as opposed to opting out of the entire enterprise send list.
Ignore Duplicate Numbers - Toggle this on to prevent sending to duplicate numbers in your database.
Targeting - Send your SmartSMS to specific customers in your database by targeting according to specific criteria, such as name, age, etc. These specifications will come directly from your customer database column headings.
Once you've added in all the details, click on Next.
Step 3 - On the next page, give your SmartSMS engagement a name under Batch Name. Enter your Send Time - you can choose to send ASAP or untick the Send ASAP option to select a future time and date.
Alternatively, opt to send your engagement in batches using Stagger Send. This is particularly helpful if you have a very large customer database as these can take longer to upload and send. Click on Change Stagger Rule, then select the number of Batches as well as the number of Minutes Apart each batch should deploy.
Step 4 - Click on Cost Estimate to get an overview of your engagement - what the Total Cost will be, how many Exclusions there are, and a Cost Breakdown. If you are satisfied with the data, simply click Close.
Step 5 - After completing the above steps, click on Send. This will load all your information to your engagement - do not navigate away from this screen. Once your engagement has been applied, you will be asked to confirm the Total Recipients and Confirm assigning amount. Then, click on Create.
Step 6 - Your new engagement will reflect on your dashboard as shown below. Note the live analytics displayed; these will be continually updated after your campaign has been deployed.
View additional menu options by clicking on the cog symbol on the right-hand side of the panel. This allows you to View SMS Text, View Targeting as well as Pause/Stop your engagement and Get Report.
Triggered SmartSMS
Triggered SmartSMSs can be programmed to send automatically when specific actions are performed, such as if a client submits answers to a feedback survey.
Step 1 - Once you have created your campaign, it's time to set-up your Triggered SmartSMS engagements. You can create multiple engagements within the same campaign group. Click on Add Triggered SmartSMS to get started. Then, select Create Bulk Send (Current Data) from the options presented.
Step 2 - Complete the specifications of your Triggered SmartSMS setup:
Engagement Name - Give your Triggered SmartSMS campaign a name.
Trigger Key - The Trigger Key is a string of at least 6 alphanumeric characters used as an identifier for the API integration to trigger the SMS campaign.
Budget - Set a budget for your campaign engagement.
Customer Data - Select which column from your Customer Data should be used for personalisation in your trigger SmartSMS copy. You can add more reference columns here using the Add Field button.
Link Domain - Select the correct link domain from the dropdown and select Add Link to include the web address of your Mobiz hosted template.
SMS Text - This is the text your customer will receive in the form of an SMS on their mobile device. Use the Add Fields function to add in personalizations directly from your customer database.

Keyword Response SmartSMS
Create SmartSMS campaigns which are fired when a user responds using predetermined keywords, such as a service opt-in where a customer responds with "Yes", or a response poll to rate an experience.
Step 1 - Now that you have created your campaign, it's time to set-up your Keyword SmartSMS engagements. You can create multiple engagements within the same campaign group. Click on Add Keyword Response to get started. Then, select Create Bulk Send (Current Data) from the options presented.
Step 2 - Complete the specifications of your Keyword Response SmartSMS setup:
Engagement Name - Give your Keyword SmartSMS campaign a name.
Shortcode - Select the relevant Shortcode number to which the end-user should send their text response.
Keyword - This is the selected word which will trigger your SmartSMS sequence.
All Unused - Allow users to respond with any keyword so long as it is not bound to another engagement using the same Shortcode.
Customer Data - Select which column from your Customer Data should be used for personalisation in your Keyword SmartSMS copy. You can add more reference columns here using the Add Field button.
SMS Text - This is the text your customer will receive in the form of a SmartSMS on their mobile device. Use the Add Fields function to add in personalizations directly from your customer database.
Once you've added in all the details, click on Save.
